Despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling against the president on the issue, Attorney General William Barr said this week that he agrees with Donald Trump’s call to include a question about citizenship in the upcoming national census.

“I agree with him that the Supreme Court ruling was wrong,” he said.

Furthermore, Barr predicted a development in the near term that would result in the question being added.

Without elaborating, he shared his belief that there is “an opportunity potentially to cure the lack of clarity that was the problem and we might as well take a shot at doing that.”
