After receiving criticism from a co-host on ABC’s “The View,” U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar responded on Twitter.

Meghan McCain reacted to the recent shooting at a California synagogue with a reference to the Minnesota Democrat.

“I do think when we are having conversations about antisemitism we should be looking at the most extreme on both sides,” she said. “And I would bring up Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and some of her comments that got so much attention.”

McCain went on to bring up controversial comments from Omar’s past and many critics denounced the comparison. The freshman lawmaker shared one such take.

“How dare you suggest that [Omar] is in some way responsible for the murder of our people when the Poway shooter’s manifesto showed his penchant for violent Islamophobia and antisemitism alike,” wrote Women’s March spokeswoman Sophie Ellman-Golan. “We know who is killing us. How dare you.”

Omar added her own tagline: “Oh, bless her heart!”
