The host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” did not care for the second night of debates hosted by the same network that airs his program. He made no bones about his opinion when addressing the topic on air Friday morning.
“With apologies to our friends and watching, last night was a disaster for the Democratic Party,” Joe Scarborough said. “My only hope is people were not watching.”
He primarily faulted the 10 candidates for focusing too much on each other and not enough on the incumbent.
“So they’re lined up in trench warfare, ready to get out of the trenches and charge Donald Trump,” Scarborough said. “Instead, they all turn their guns on each other and shoot each other and everybody is yelling at each other all night.”
Furthermore, he took issue with specific performances, saying that Joe Biden never seemed to “complete his sentence” and Bernie Sanders “was yelling all night.”
Speaking for the millions of Americans who want to see a Democrat replace Trump after one term, Scarborough was hardly encouraged by Thursday’s debate.
“It was a bad sign for me, as someone who desperately wants to see Donald Trump taken out of office,” he concluded.
