Bernie Marcus, the nonagenarian co-founder of Home Depot, caused immediate backlash with his announcement that he would be financially supporting the re-election campaign of President Donald Trump.

In response to calls for boycotts among Trump critics, the president tweeted his support of the billionaire businessman.

“A truly great, patriotic & charitable man, Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot who, at the age of 90, is coming under attack by the Radical Left Democrats with one of their often used weapons,” Trump claimed. “They don’t want people to shop at those GREAT stores because he contributed to your favorite President, me!”

The president then went on to describe his political detractors as “vicious and totally crazed,” suggesting there are “far more great people (‘Deplorables’) in this country, than bad.”
