‘I applaud him for doing that’: Harris says Biden’s apology wasn’t enough to resolve differences

The first major squabble between Democratic presidential contenders remains unresolved even after Joe Biden‘s recent apology.

During a campaign stop last week, the former vice president said he was sorry for speaking about working civilly with segregationist lawmakers decades ago. Sen. Kamala Harris of California commended him for those remarks.

“He is right to recognize the impact of his words and I applaud him for doing that,” she said. “There is still a point of disagreement between he and I — and that remains, … which is the issue of busing.”
