Multiple members of Community Board 11 in New York City say they left a recent meeting in protest after objectionable statements by U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The Democratic lawmaker arranged the meeting with about a dozen members of the board, which covers an area of the Bronx, and three attendees say they walked out in protest. An Ocasio-Cortez spokesperson, however, pushed back against their claims.

“The only person that left the meeting while it was underway was someone who had to go pick up their children,” Corbin Trent said.

Nevertheless, Silvio Mazzella complained of his perception that Ocasio-Cortez “knocks the country” and “knocks the president.”

Former Community Board 11 Chairman Anthony Vitaliano agreed.

“I just couldn’t hear her BS anymore,” the Army veteran said. “I just got up, got my umbrella in my hand and walked right out.”

Another critic did not want his name published.

“I was so disgusted,” he said of her speech.

Ocasio-Cortez has been a lightning rod for harsh criticism from conservatives since she was elected to Congress last year.
