A Delaware man is grateful his 5-year-old son has the pro wrestling belts back after a pair of thieves were caught on camera stealing packages containing the prized items.

Making matters worse, Tim Vick Jr. said the young boy is facing major surgery and had been relying on the belts to bring him some security. The father reportedly sent the belts to an expert in Washington state to be cleaned when the theft occurred.

After the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department posted an advisory regarding the theft, one of the two individuals seen in the video reportedly thought better of the crime and returned the items — along with a statement of remorse.

“Never in a million years would I have expected I would have stolen from a sick 5-year-old. I have a 6-year-old myself and I’m ashamed of what I did.”

The letter was reportedly signed “two idiots” and the man whose porch was breached said he does not intend to pursue charges. He noted, however, that the criminal aspect “might be up to the Pierce County prosecutor.”
