A recent Kenai Peninsula Borough meeting in Alaska attracted more attention than usual due to its slated opening invocation.

Reports indicate Iris Fontana of the Satanic Temple was on hand to offer the opening prayer following a lawsuit filed in response to a 2016 policy restricting who could provide invocations at local government meetings.

“That which will not bend, must break, and that which cannot be destroyed by truth should never be spared as demise,” Fontana reportedly said. “It is done, hail Satan.”

In addition to seeing the exit of several attendees, about 40 individuals gathered outside to protest the prayer.
