Following an offensive chant aimed at the freshman lawmaker during a recent campaign rally for President Donald Trump, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., found a more welcoming crowd at an airport in her home state this week.
She shared a tweet of the reception amid backlash over the North Carolina rally in which Trump supporters shouted “send her back” as the president stood silently on stage.
“Welcome home Ilhan,” the crowd at the airport said.
