‘It’s Republican territory’: Local radio stations will air Trump speech clips every hour until 2020 election

Radio listeners in one region of Florida will be inundated with clips from the president’s speeches over the next year and a half.

According to Samuel Rogatinsky, who owns Gulf Coast Media Inc., the company’s three radio stations will be airing two-minute Donald Trump snippets each hour until the 2020 presidential election. He said some hours could carry multiple clips.

“We ran it by a bunch of listeners and people in the area, and nobody’s upset about it,” he said. “It’s Republican territory. Nobody’s offended by it. It’s not an issue.”

While he said the effort was intended to “show the community’s sincere appreciation for President Donald Trump’s work in Panama City and Bay County,” Rogatinsky said he wouldn’t be opposed to dedicating similar segments to Democrats.

“If anybody requests it, it won’t be an issue,” he said of concerns regarding Federal Communication Commission requirements for equal airtime.

Rogatinsky reportedly bought the small radio group last year.
