In response to consistent criticism from the Democratic presidential field regarding the Trump administration’s economic record, the president’s senior economic adviser is pushing back.

But in an interview this weekend, Fox News Channel anchor Chris Wallace cut Larry Kudlow off as he attempted to sing Donald Trump’s praises.

“Let me interrupt your campaign speech,” Wallace said as the White House official cited progress in the unemployment rate and on Wall Street.

Kudlow said it was “not a campaign speech,” prompting the interviewer to focus on a different aspect of the economy.

“All I’m saying is this: I don’t think there’s any question, you would agree … there is clearly a stark income inequality in this country,” Wallace said.

His guest responded by asserting that the “economy is strong.”
