Entering his first presidential debate with a commanding early lead, former Vice President Joe Biden appears to have emerged with notably less support.
In a survey of Democrats likely to vote in the primary election, Morning Consult and FiveThirtyEight found that 31.5 percent said they would vote for Biden after Thursday’s debate performance. That number is an even 10 points lower than a similar poll question asked before the debate.
Meanwhile, Sen. Kamala Harris gained nearly as much support in the post-debate poll as Biden lost. Just under eight percent of respondents backed the California lawmaker prior to Thursday, compared to 16.6 percent after.
