‘Praising any autocrat he can find’: Dan Rather slams Trump’s ‘borderline bizarre’ conduct at G-20

As President Donald Trump traveled abroad during this week’s G-20 summit in Japan, he received criticism for a range of remarks.

Longtime news anchor Dan Rather issued his opprobrium on Friday, saying it was “at least borderline bizarre” and “deeply strange” to see his conduct alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin — among other things.

“He praises the leader of Saudi Arabia,” Rather said, similarly denouncing his remarks about wanting to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The veteran journalist went on to say that “the president is almost praising any autocrat he can find” while “he’s very critical of our friends and allies.”
