Authorities in Tennessee say 33-year-old William David Phillips was arrested on suspicion of killing two people and injuring another in a crash that ended with his vehicle inside a Jefferson City store this week.

A pregnant woman, 30-year-old Sierra Wilson Cahoon, and her 2-year-old son, Nolan, were killed when the car struck them just moments after another pedestrian, 61-year-old Tillman Gunter, was injured in a similar manner.

Gunter and an employee of the store Phillips allegedly crashed into were reportedly transported from the scene to an area hospital.

The suspect is accused of an “intentional act of violence toward randomly chosen pedestrians,” police say. He is expected to face criminal charges including two counts of murder in the first degree and one count of attempted murder.
