After Vice President Mike Pence accused U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of being uninformed on events in Venezuela, the Minnesota Democrat shot back in a tweet on Friday.
Pence responded to a reporters question regarding why he had been publicly critical of the freshman lawmaker.
He responded by claiming that she “doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”
Pence was reacting to Omar’s assertion that U.S. policies have “kind of helped lead the devastation in Venezuela.”
After hearing the vice president’s take, Omar replied on Twitter.
“Instead of ‘we disagree,’ it’s ‘she doesn’t know what she’s talking about,'” the legislator wrote. “They have to make us feel small.”
Omar ended her tweet with a jab of her own.
“This from an Administration that thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax,” she wrote.
The U.S. has weighed in on the civil unrest in Venezuela, showing support for Juan Guaido in his bid to unseat President Nicolas Maduro.
