U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, attempted to disparage a long-shot 2020 presidential candidate’s fledgling campaign.
With a reference to the iconic NBC sitcom “Seinfeld,” he called Senate colleague Michael Bennet’s White House bid a campaign “about nothing.”
Bennet, a Colorado Democrat, responded with a tweet imagining Cruz as the show’s antagonist.

One of the sitcom’s central cast members joined in on the mockery. Jason Alexander tweeted a spin on one of his most memorable lines from the long-running series.
He started by calling Bennet “a great man and real choice” for president.
“As for Cruz – the jerk store called and they’re running out of you,” Alexander wrote. “I say, the faster the better.”
