Whether his remarks were racist or not, President Donald Trump telling a group believed to include minority women in Congress to “go back” to their supposed countries of origin has caused a groundswell of political backlash.

At a campaign rally in North Carolina this week, however, the president found some die-hard fans willing to further his divisive message with a supportive chant.

When Trump began attacking U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., during his partisan screed, the crowd started to boo.

From there, reports show attendees began shouting “send her back” in reference to the Somali-born woman who was a young child when she joined her family in America as a refugee.
