Social media backlash against an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania was swift after a parent’s Facebook post.

According to Chris Piland, his second-grade son received a disparaging comment on a recent math assignment.

He said the teacher “has been so rude” to the boy throughout the school year. Accompanying his post was an apparent photo of the assignment along with the message scrawled across the top.

The teacher — identified as Alyssa Rupp Bohenek — reportedly wrote “absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min!”

As the image shows, the message ended with “sad,” followed by a frowning face. Piland wrote he was “beyond frustrated” by the experience.

Valley View School District Superintendent Rose Minniti confirmed officials were aware of the complaint.

“It’s a personnel issue, and the results of that are not going to be dictated by social media,” she said. “It’s going to be dictated by the facts and evidence.”

While scores of critics have signed a petition or otherwise expressed their opposition, others are siding with the teacher.

“I’m sick and tired of these kids being coddled these days,” read one such comment.
