As factions within the Democratic Party engage in reported spats, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is publicly denouncing the disagreements.
“I think we became the party of hemming and hawing and trying to be all things to everybody,” she said in a recent interview. “And it’s not to say that we need to exclude people, but it’s to say that we don’t have to be afraid of having a clear message.”
She went on to describe what she believes that message should be:
“We believe in the human dignity of all people. We believe that health care should be a right. We believe that all people should be paid a living wage.”
