In response to increased pressure from Democrats in Congress, President Donald Trump is preparing for battle.

Speaking to reporters this week, he made his opinion clear regarding a House judiciary committee request. He said it was “ridiculous” for the committee to issue a subpoena to former White House counsel Don McGahn.

“We’re fighting all the subpoenas,” Trump said.

The president went on to claim that he has “by far” been the most transparent president in American history.

He questioned the motives of Democrats calling for investigations based on the revelations in the recently released Mueller report.

“Look, these aren’t impartial people,” Trump claimed. “The Democrats are trying to win 2020.”

Turning his attention toward the campaign, he predicted that the rival party is “not going to win with the people” he’s seen so far.

“And they’re not going to win against me,” he said. “The only way they can luck out is by constantly going after me on nonsense.”
