President Donald Trump thinks it is “an appropriate thing” to discuss with the Justice Department possibly investigating 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The early front-runner in the race to replace Trump, he has faced recent calls from Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani for a probe into business dealings involving his son, Hunter Biden.
“Certainly it is a very big issue and we’ll see what happens,” Trump said of possibly discussing the issue with Attorney General William Barr. “I have not spoken to him about it. Would I speak to him about it? I haven’t thought of that. I mean, you’re asking me a question I haven’t thought of.”
Nevertheless, Trump reacted to the hypothetical situation. He opined that “certainly it would be an appropriate thing” to bring up the issue with Barr.
Trump went on to allege that speculation involving Biden had not been properly vetted because of his party affiliation.
“Because he’s a Democrat it’s about 1/100th the size of the fact that if he were a Republican it would be a lot bigger,” he claimed.
Giuliani had planned a trip to Ukraine, which he billed as an effort to look into the Biden claims. He has since canceled that outing amid increasing criticism.
