As a new poll finds he is the least popular sitting U.S. senator, a third Democrat has entered the race to replace Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

Former U.S. Marine Mike Broihier is launching his political career with the bid, which he announced in a video this week.

“For 35 years, Mitch McConnell has used labels to reinforced old prejudices, to divide us, to maintain his grip on power,” the candidate said. “But we are more than a collection of labels. We are each unique.”

Broihier went on to describe his vision for a Kentucky senator “who actually cares about us, who listens to us, who sees us and respects us as individuals,” which he said “Mitch McConnell doesn’t.”
