Tennessee-based restaurant chain Cracker Barrel has denounced a pastor in that state for his hateful rhetoric, announcing that it will not allow him to hold an event at one of its locations as he had previously planned.
All Scripture Baptist Church pastor Grayson Fritts — also a detective in the county police department — was set to present his message at a Cracker Barrel location in Cleveland, Tenn., later this month.
The chairwoman of the state’s Democratic Party contacted the company with information about Fritts’ history of alleged anti-LGBT comments — including his reported assertion that members of that community are “worthy of death.”
Cracker Barrel announced its decision in a public statement posted to Twitter.

Fritts is on his way out of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and is currently on paid leave until his final day next month. The agency is reportedly reviewing any complaints about his closed cases as well as taking a closer look at open investigations he had handled.
