Tippies are a line of adorable collectable toys by toy and licensing giant Bandai America that come in two sets: Peanuts and Disney. Each set contains ten figures, all of which are priced below $5. These cute, tiny, and colorful toys will appeal to adult collectors as much as children. They can be kept as desk ornaments or playthings to add into a dollhouse or a building block set. Tippies first came onto Bandai’s radar from the Japanese branch of the company. The licensing for Peanuts and Disney, specifically, were also secured by the Japanese office who banked on the worldwide appeal of these beloved characters as a key selling point.
“I think Tippies is such a unique format for any collector,” declared Trish Garrett, a brand strategist for Bandai America with an extensive background in product design engineering. “It transforms your favorite characters into these mini, nut- shaped, desktop eye-candy. I love how they bobble around when you tip them!”
Trish admitted that she was partial to the Snoopy figurine (with Woodstock perched on his head) from the Peanuts collection. When it came to the Disney series, she has an affinity for Mickey and Minnie from the Steamboat Willie era. “They’re such classics, and it’s so rare to find toy versions of these characters,” Trish exclaimed.
If someone sees Tippies and smiles, then the toys have succeeded in their duty to make people happy. Trish is hopeful that the brand will expand to include more characters from both the Disney and Peanuts realms while also expanding out into other properties to help broaden the appeal to new fans. This seems quite possible considering that the brand is growing in pop-culture popularity.
“I had someone tell me she was planning to use Tippies to create a scene on top of a cake which I thought was a pretty cool idea,” Trish stated. “I’ve been meaning to try that myself!”
Aside from Tippies, Bandai is also working on the releases of new Charaction CUBEs offerings, a unique collection of toys that combines beloved characters with a Rubik’s CUBE. To stay informed about the offerings, visit the official Bandai website.
