“Garden District” is a short film about a wealthy and dysfunctional family residing in the historically ritzy Garden District of New Orleans.



“Garden District” is a short film about a wealthy and dysfunctional family who reside in the historically ritzy Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Secrets, greed, lust, deceit and backstabbing have plagued the family for generations and old animosities are provoked when the patriarch falls ill and rewrites his will on his deathbed.

Garden DistrictThis short film was filmed in a beautiful private home located in the Garden District and the entire cast–both on screen and behind the scenes–are from New Orleans. “Starring Bryan Batt (Mad Men), Janet Shea, and Barret O’Brien, the film also features Kelly Lind, Sherri Eakin, Carl Palmer, and Dari Lynn Griffin.

Garden District” was directed by Oley Sassone, and written and created by by Rosary O’Neill. The film is a sizzle for a television series that the production company is aiming to get picked up.

Garden District“Garden District” has been accepted into the 2021 London International Film Festival, where it has been nominated for the following six awards:

  • Best Short Film
  • Best Director: Oley Sassone
  • Best Lead Actor in a Short Film: Bryan Batt
  • Best Lead Actor in a Short Film: Barret O’Brien
  • Best Lead Actress in a Short Film: Janet Shea
  • Best Editing
