England sweat over Roy’s fitness

Jason Roy has now missed three matches on the trot and he was scheduled to return to the English XI for the crucial match against India. England has been missing the charismatic opening batsman off late. If Roy is fit, there is no doubt that he will replace James Vince in the side.

Other than this, England may not make any more changes to their side considering the fact that they like to stick to their key players for a crucial match such as this. Virat and his problem of plentyIndia has no complains going into this match with the form of the players in the side. Instead, captain Virat Kohli has a problem of plenty.

Bhuvaneswar Kumar, who was bowling well before his injury and Mohammad Shami who replaced him has also picked up eight wickets from two matches. If Bhuvi is fit, it will be interesting to see what combination India plays.

India could, in fact, drop a spinner but the pitch in Birmingham does have some turn on offer which the two Indian spinners can exploit. Batting has not been easy in Birmingham so far in this tournament and that case is likely to continue when India and England clash on Sunday.

Spinners will get some turn from the surface while pacers would fancy their chances with the new ball. Weather is expected to be clear and no rain can be predicted as of now.
