Roy and Moeen likely come back

Jason Roy and Moeen Ali didn’t feature in the first ODI which was eventually abandoned. According to the Cricbuzz report, the duo was seen training with the squad on the eve of the second match.

Joe Denly and James Vince can make way for the two senior players. Other than this, England is unlikely to go for any more changes in the XI. Jofra Archer should get another chance after his impressive outing at the Oval.

Malik back with the squad but might get rested for the second match

Shoaib Malik has rejoined the squad after being sent home to Pakistan to address some of his personal issues.

Asif Ali had been given the opportunity in the line-up for the first ODI, but he can be given an extended run in the side with Malik being rested for this match. The bowling unit didn’t get a chance to bowl in the first match, so there might not be changes in that department.

Southampton is likely to experience some rain in the early morning, but the weather is expected to get cleared as the day progresses. The pitch as seen a day before the match suggests that it will be a good wicket to bat on. If the weather is dry, then we might spinners coming into the match as well. It will be interesting to see what the captain winning the toss will opt to do, considering the overcast weather in the morning.
