Imam-Ul-Haq injury scare

The going was not smooth for the visitors, and when Imam-ul-Haq was hit on his elbow after he missed a pull shot off a 90 mph short pitch delivery, the selectors would have missed a heartbeat. Imam is the mainstay of the Pakistani batting lineup and will be playing a significant role in the upcoming World Cup.

However, he returned after the fall of the seventh wicket and seemed fit and fine. For England, the beginning of the run chase became uneventful, and things looked perfect till 201. Jason Roy’s dismissal started a crumble which saw three wickets lost in the space of 10 balls and only seven runs were added to the score. When Moin Ali went for a duck, and the score was 216, it seemed that the visitors had pulled the rug from underneath the feet of the hosts and the fifth ODI will become the decider.

However, Stokes and Tom Curran got England back on the path and stitched a good partnership of 61 runs. For Curran, the inning was especially sweet since he had taken four Pakistani wickets for 75 runs. Curran made a useful 31 featuring five fours. However, when he was clean bowled off a beauty off Hassan Ali things started looking a bit tardy. England needed 22 runs off 16 balls. However, Stokes made the task easy and stood like a rock steering England to victory in the last over.
