The Indian squad for the World Cup was announced last month with some surprise picks and exclusions. Rishabh Pant was not included in the side while Ambati Rayudu also missed out.
Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar were included in the squad which came as a surprise to a lot of people. It will be interesting to see how the batting order pans out finally. The bowling unit has been doing well for the last two years and their crucial test is about to begin.
Partly cloudy weather and a good batting pitch awaits the two sides
New Zealand has arrived in the United Kingdom with a 15 member squad and with a few surprises. Tom Blundell was included as the second wicketkeeper. Kane Williamson will be leading the side as usual and Tom Latham is the vice-captain of the team.

The Kennington Oval pitch is quite flat for batting and as India would remember the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. The wicket is good for batting and it is likely to stay the same for the upcoming tournament. There could be some turn from the wicket. The weather will be partly cloudy which suggests some advantage to the seamers.
