The Spice Girls are an English pop girl group formed in 1994. Names of members in the group of five are Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham. Nicknames of the first two are Mel B and Mel C. They have other names as well. For instance – Mel B is also “Scary Spice” while Mel C is “Sporty Spice.” Similarly, Emma Bunton goes by the name of “Baby Spice,” and Geri Halliwell is “Ginger Spice.” Victoria Beckham is special and she is “Posh Spice.” They have just finished a tour of England and announced their tour to Australia. Incidentally, Mel B made the announcement on stage at the end of the group’s final show. The venue was London’s Wembley Stadium. “We’ll see you in February in Australia!” is how she put it. They have not been to Australia so far. Fans have to wait for details.
Their reunion tour
Spice Girls had embarked on their reunion tour in late May. Unfortunately, Victoria Beckham was not a part of the tour because of her prior commitments. The band played in various major cities in the UK. A member of the Australia media attended the opening night in at Croke Park Stadium, Dublin. He was impressed and described it as “the most euphoric pop show you’ll see all year”. According to him, the program was slickly produced and tightly choreographed. The Spice Girls had taken over the world in the mid-90s.
