A bikini-clad Britney Spears posted an Instagram video of herself doing an outdoor yoga workout to show her fans that she’s doing well after a month-long stay at a mental hospital.
‘Yoga on the green. I really like it LIKE THAT!!’ Spears wrote in the caption to her Instagram clip.
Britney Spears says exercise eases her depression
In the short exercise video, Britney does a walking handstand, a variety of stretches, and strength poses while sporting a tiny striped bikini.
The clip was presumably filmed by her boyfriend, fitness trainer Sam Asghari. Spears, 37, has been dating the 25-year-old model and personal trainer since 2016.
Britney Spears suffers from bipolar disorder and depression
Spears, who admits she suffers from bipolar disorder, manic depression, and erratic mood swings, was released from a mental health facility last week after a 30-day stay.
Britney suffered an emotional breakdown because of her father Jamie’s ongoing health problems, TMZ reported.
Jamie Spears, 66, has undergone two surgeries for problems with his intestines and colon after his colon erupted in November 2018.
Sources say his health is not improving, and this caused Britney to spiral into a deep depression.
Spears was placed on suicide watch in 2008
Britney has been under a conservatorship led by her dad since 2008 since suffering a series of emotional breakdowns that year.
At the time, Spears was forcibly hospitalized and placed on suicide watch. During her 20s, the pop princess abused drugs and alcohol.
In January 2019, Britney tweeted how grateful she was that her father is alive, and urged her fans to take care of their mental and physical health.
Spears tweeted: “It’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.”
As HVY reported, Britney says she exercises every day because it eases her anxiety and depression.
Spears often encourages her fans on social media to work out, saying it has therapeutic benefits.
“Daily exercise is important for me both mentally and physically,” Spears said. “I don’t mind working out. Trainers keep you motivated, but I didn’t have a problem being motivated.”
