British actress Elizabeth Hurley showed off her age-defying bikini body and sexy legs in a flirty Instagram post, to the delight of her enthusiastic fans.
In one Instagram video clip, Hurley twirls around in a striped strapless bikini that spotlights her flat abs and gorgeous smile.
Elizabeth Hurley doesn’t follow a formal workout regimen
Elizabeth — who turns 54 in June — looks sensational despite not being an exercise fanatic or strict dieter.
As HVY reported, Hurley credits an organic, portion-controlled diet and an active lifestyle for her youthful beauty. Here’s what Elizabeth’s typical daily menu looks like:
- Breakfast: Greek yogurt, a banana, and some honey.
- Lunch: Bowl of vegetable soup.
- Dinner: Grilled chicken and assorted vegetables.
Hurley’s diet focuses on vegetables and protein
Instead of following trendy or restrictive diets, Hurley prefers to focus on eating plenty of vegetables and high-quality proteins while limiting carbs and junk food.
“I eat meat and fish, but I also eat a lot of vegetables,” Hurley told Closer. “And I’ve been really trying in the last year [to make sure] that 50% of the foods I eat are vegetables. I think it really makes a difference.”
While Elizabeth isn’t a gym fiend, she makes an effort to be active every day by walking, hiking and generally moving around.
“I don’t do any regulated exercise, but I’m very active,” Hurley said. “On the weekends, I go for long hikes with my dogs. I do the occasional yoga or Pilates class, but mostly it’s just self-exercise at home.”
Consistency is more important than intensity
Hurley’s short home workout routine usually includes some arm exercises, moves to tighten her stomach, and lots of stretching to keep her muscles limber.
Because her home workout isn’t too intense, Elizabeth says she can do it anytime, anywhere. This makes it easy for her to get in some kind of exercise every day.
Fitness experts say consistency is more important than intensity when it comes to exercise. In other words, walking 10 minutes a day, every day, is better for you than being totally inactive six days a week and doing a grueling two-hour workout one day a week.
Elizabeth Hurley says her anti-aging beauty secrets include drinking plenty of water, daily sunscreen use, and moisturizer. That — coupled with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle — is the fountain of youth.
