Psst, Kettle….It’s Pot! CNBC carnival barker Jim Cramer unironically took an ironic dig at Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whom he called a modern-day P.T. Barnum.
Jim Cramer Shrieks: Elon Musk Is Annoying
“I just keep finding it’s a three-ring circus with the guy,” Cramer said on CNBC (video below). “It’s kind of annoying but he’s exciting. He’s P.T. Barnum! P.T. Barnum packed the seats.”
P.T. Barnum was a flamboyant American businessman who founded the Barnum & Bailey Circus. He’s most famous for his outlandish hoaxes, pranks, and shameless publicity stunts.
Cramer Sides with SEC In Feud With Elon Musk
Jim Cramer has been very critical of Elon Musk since his feud with the SEC erupted in August 2018 over the billionaire’s use of his Twitter account.
Last week, four pro-Musk members of Tesla’s board of directors announced they will not seek re-election once their terms end.
This shakeup occurred in response to repeated efforts by a group of anti-Musk shareholders to unseat Elon as CEO.
Musk is still resolving his issues with the SEC, but says he’s optimistic that he and the agency will work out their differences soon.

Jim Cramer’s TV Career Is a Tribute to PT Barnum
It’s pretty rich for Jim Cramer to accuse someone else of being over-the-top and obnoxious considering that his entire TV career is based on his ridiculous antics.
Meanwhile, Cramer’s pipsqueak voice is so shrill that only certain rare breeds of dogs can hear it without gagging.
Then, there are the clownish costumes Jim wears while hosting his CNBC show, where he offers investments tips and analysis.
Despite his buffoonish shenanigans, Cramer is a Harvard graduate who worked at Goldman Sachs during his twenties.
He then later founded his own hedge fund, which he managed from 1988 to 2000.
In 1996, Cramer also co-founded the financial news blog TheStreet with Martin Peretz, one of his hedge fund’s original clients.
Cramer reportedly has a net worth of roughly $100 million. By comparison, Elon Musk’s net worth tops $20 billion.
Cramer is 64 years old, while Elon is 47 (and whole a lot cuter and more interesting). But Musk is used to jealous snarking from hedge funders.
Hedge fund billionaire David Einhorn savages Elon Musk in blistering investor letter. Einhorn, who's shorting $TSLA, gloats that Tesla is "on the brink of failure."
Musk is getting the last laugh: Einhorn had his worst year in 2018 b/c he shorted Tesla.https://t.co/LVft5Qi5T4
