Melita Stedman Norwood, born in Bournemouth, Hampshire on Monday, 25 March 1912, worked as a civil servant. She worked at the British Non-Ferrous Metals Research Association. Beginning in 1937, for the next 40 years, Norwood was a significant source of intelligence for the KGB.
On Thursday, 2 June 2005, Norwood died at Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital. She was 93.
