What is the Second Film about?

The plot of the second film, considering how things went down for the bad little piggies, is predictable. King Mudbeard / Leonard (Bill Hader) is seeking revenge against the Angry Birds for the devastation they caused to the piggies homeland. The piggies desire for friendship with the Birds was a play to get the eggs. The deception was the piggies undoing. If the piggies had not taken the Birds’ eggs, the Pigs would have not seen the level of destruction to their home.

While the war between the Angry Birds and the devious piggies is comical, threatened with the possibility of a new ice age, everyone is in danger. Because both sides might not see another day dawn, the Birds and the Pigs will have to work together to prevent the mysterious purple bird Zeta from employing cryokinetic technology.

Who wrote the Screenplay?

The person responsible for bringing this new narrative to movie and cinema screens is Peter Ackerman. Ackerman, having previously written the screenplays for two instalments of the Ice Age franchise, is possibly better known for penning teleplays for numerous episodes of the popular mystery crime drama The Americans.

Is it possible the screenplay writer wants to bring elements of the Ice Age franchise to Angry Birds? Are these franchises even in the same fictional universe? What are your thoughts? Would a crossover between the two franchises work? Please comment and make suggestions for a possible third instalment.
