I will say, the books by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series have been quite an adventure for me. When I first began my reading of Game of Thrones, it was because I knew the books contained a lot of adult content not appropriate for children. I was a new mother and did not want anything inappropriate on the screen. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the brilliant work by George R.R. Martin.
Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to hear him speak and I’ve become a single mother. It has been quite a journey for me. I will say, not as much as the journey the Starks have been on.
I’ll always remember when I was trapped in a bad marriage and how I watched Game of Thrones and thought, “At least my life isn’t that bad.”
That’s what quality stories do. They transport us regular folks into the fascinating lives of different characters. I find it hard to fathom, that I could ever be in the same category as the great George R. R. Martin. However, since my life is now plagued with a touch of being a bit of a digital nomad, I have relied on freelancing to help keep the bills paid.
I am rooting for the Starks and Jon Snow. I was thrilled to see Arya Stark defeat the Night King. That did occur the very same weekend I learned what I think is the final bit of information that could save my life and keep my daughter on the track of success. Knowledge is power, and having knowledge of Game of Thrones has benefited my life beyond words.
HBO just sent me the photos for Episode 4. They look much brighter than the last episode. I would love to hear, what you think about the photos. Please leave me a comment or if you have a question, I will ask them for you. New episodes of Game of Thrones air on Sundays at 9 pm eastern time on HBO.
