Betsy DeVos’ Idiotic American Slavery Comparison to Pro-Choice is Dead Wrong

As soon as she was appointed to the government post of U.S. Education Secretary, Betsy DeVos (pictured) stoked an abundance of fear into the hearts of middle and lower-class American parents who are reliant on the public school system.

This is mainly because part of her immense wealth was built by lobbying for the empowerment of private, for-profit higher education institutions at the expense of the public funding sector. President Donald Trump’s installation of DeVos into his cabinet sent the message that drastic financial cuts were coming to the national budget, which flows to individual American states from the U.S. Department of Education.

DeVos, 62, has talked about how bad she wants to use her figurative sword to make major slashes in national education funding all across the board. In a 2018 interview, the staunch conservative said that her rationale for executing a massive reduction in public education funding comes from her “observation of the youth” and their “attraction to socialism.”

“Students aren’t getting the kind of foundation in civics and government that I recall getting as a student in K-12 education. And they’re coming then into higher education without the background to even know and understand competing ideas, and then without the ability to discuss and debate them,” DeVos said in her interview on the Daily Signal Podcast.

Word has circulated in the past about the poor job DeVos has been doing as the U.S. Education Secretary. There were even rumors that she was on the verge of being fired from her government post. Congress approved the nomination of DeVos as U.S. Education Secretary by a very narrow margin. Teacher’s unions hate her and she has never herself been an educator.

But in a more recent public vocal gaffe, DeVos offered lip service on another societal issue. Since debating education (the field she is supposed to be an expert in) has not gone well for her, DeVos recently fixed her mouth to spew nonsense pertaining to two other societal issues of contentious debate: Women’s reproductive rights and slavery.

According to Politico, DeVos was a keynote speaker at a recent event in Washington D.C., which was sponsored by Colorado Christian University. During her commentary, DeVos tried idiotically to compare the activism of slavery abolitionists from America’s dark yesteryear to the activism of conservative pro-life advocates of today.

“[President Abraham Lincoln] contended with the ‘pro-choice’ arguments of his day. They suggested that a state’s ‘choice’ to be slave or to be free had no moral question in it. Lincoln was right about the slavery ‘choice’ then, and he would be right about the life ‘choice’ today,”‘ DeVos said.

“Because as it’s been said: Freedom is not about doing what we want. Freedom is about having the right to do what we ought,” she continued.

DeVos’ words were merely an utterance of the same-old ancient hogwash that white Christian conservatives have been echoing in America for ages. However, what white elitist ideologues like DeVos never bring up about abortion is how the establishment they are so proud of clandestinely promotes it heavily as a birth control alternative for black mothers.

Also, DeVos is a poster child for the rich white female’s privilege in America. She was born in Michigan to a very wealthy family. DeVos married a wealthy white man who is an upholder of white supremacy and political power in her native state. It is very easy for a white woman like DeVos to use the historical victimization of black people in America to score points in a debate about social issues.

Why? Because she is a happy, comfortable, and proud beneficiary of America’s white-dominated system that was built of off black slavery.

If DeVos and her white conservative counterparts in both genders had any real courage, they would express how they genuinely feel inside about abortion: “Let the negro women exercise the freedoms granted in Roe v. Wade. White women need not go down that rabbit hole!” According to scientific research, this country’s black extermination plan is working.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported in 2018 that though American-born blacks represent only 13.4 percent of the U.S. population, nearly 40 percent of all the abortions in this nation are performed on black mothers. Talk about population control. DeVos’ cheap political rhetoric certainly did not contain any of the facts published in her government’s 2018 report.

Slavery only exists to her kind when they are trying to score political points for their ideology; it never exists when you refer to the privilege that their ancestors robbed from humanity. Liberal Democrats are the exact same way in America. They only differ from conservatives ideologically, not in their whiteness, ancestral inheritance, or their modern privilege.

Finally, though DeVos is a Republican, it is worth noting that her party today does not operate on the same moral compass that Lincoln’s Republican Party operated on as it pertains to this nation’s financial system. DeVos is also a beneficiary of the elitist monetary policy established by the international money changers that Lincoln was assassinated by.

In the future, when it comes to debating issues that are outside of the societal sphere of education, Betsy’s best bet would be to keep her mouth closed. As the iconic Tom Hanks once said playing “Forest Gump” on film: “Stupid is as stupid does.”
